Cold Weather Drive!
The Volunteers of America “Cold Weather Drive” is going on NOW thru October 31st. Donate coats, hats, gloves, socks, blankets, foot and hand warmers for area homeless at 3704 Coliseum Boulevard between 8am and 4:30pm. They will also pick up items from your location. For more information, call 318-442-8026. Together we can make a difference. Let’s spread warmth and hope to those in need this Winter.
Women in Business Conference!
The 12th Annual Women in Business Conference, a dynamic, informative and engaging event will be held at the Alexandria Convention Center on MacAuthur Drive on October 24th and 25th. This two-day conference brings together executives and emerging young professionals for insightful presentations from influential speakers. Golf Tournament!
Calvary Deacons annual golf tournament benefitting the Special Needs Ministry is Friday, October 4th at Links on the Bayou. 4-Person teams are $400 and includes Lunch. Fun Family Education!

Join the Volunteers of America for  Fun Family Makeover classes. Learn about having a happy family, create strong bonds, have a joyful marriage, keep safe from alcohol and drugs, among other topics. Classes are every Tuesday and dinner is provided. Kids 7 to 17 are permitted and those 6 and under will be provided childcare. For more information call 318-227-6183 
Resources for Seniors and Disabled Citizens!!
Cenla Aging and Disability Resource Center in Alexandria serves seniors 60+ and disable individuals age 21 and older in 20 parishes navigate Senior Health Insurance Information Program, Medicare and Medicaid. They also assist  with Extra Help and Medicare Savings Program, SNAP, Food Box, Commodities, Home Delivered Meals, Congregate Meals, Eye Glasses, Hearing Aids, and more. Child Car Seat Safety Check!
Louisiana State Police Troop E conducts Child Car Seat Safety Check Ups every Thursday from 10:30am to 12 Noon at the Women’s Hospital at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital. You can also schedule an appointment by calling Tiuana (Tee-Ah-na) McDonald at 318-448-4952. Also, every second Wednesday at Rapides Women’s & Children’s Hospital from 2 to 5pm. Appointments can also be made by calling Master Trooper Casey Wallace at 318-447-9459 or Tamera Tullos at 318-769-3456.
